The South East Melbourne Phoenix have exercised the option on Ellis Biggar, with the centre to remain in the Heartland until at least the end of NBL27 as a development player.
The 208cm Victorian spent his first year with the club in NBL26, hitting the floor three times and scoring his first NBL points against the Brisbane Bullets in the Christmas Spectacular.
Phoenix General Manager of Basketball Operations Simon Mitchell said Biggar was rewarded for his hard work throughout the campaign.
"Ellis has continued to work hard and develop, both on the court and in the gym," Mitchell said.
"Ellis made an impression on his teammates this season, his application to his rehab, his gym work, and ultimately, the work he put in on the floor. With continued access to the NBL’s best facilities and coaches, we feel he can take the next step, and that excites us.”
The 23-year-old will feature for the Franklin Bulls in the NZNBL this off-season - playing under Phoenix assistant coach Dan Ryan.
