The 18-year-old was a key figure amongst the best under-18 talent Australia has to offer, taking out the title and going undefeated through five games in the tournament.
Averaging a total margin win of 53 points, the Emus were unstoppable in the Middle East with victories over Mongolia, Lebanon, Chinese Taipei, Japan, Jordan, and New Zealand in the grand final.
The fledgling guard had a solid hit-out for the side, with his best game in the semi-final against Jordan, where he shot 24 points at 50 per cent from deep, five rebounds, and four assists.
In the grand final match on Tuesday morning (Australia time), the Emus silenced New Zealand, keeping them to only 16 points in the first half to their 52, before continuing their dominance and taking out gold in their successful campaign.
Remarkable, this is the fourth medal Fennell has claimed at state and national level in the past 24 months, adding to his Albert Schweitzer Tournament, under-20 National Championships with Victoria, and under-18 National Championships with Victoria.
Fennell will travel back to Australia and reunite with the Phoenix as they continue their preparation towards the Hungry Jack's NBL25 season with round 1 at HoopsFest before their home opener for Throwdown XXV on September 26 at John Cain Arena. CLICK HERE to secure your seats.
