Phoenix Head to Frankston to Take on St Mary's University

It has been 108 days since the South East Melbourne Phoenix has played a game, and tonight, they will suit up against visiting college basketball team St Mary’s.

Phoenix will travel down the peninsula to Frankston to a sold-out Hungry Jacks NBL23 pre-season game against the Gaels at 7 pm.

Ryan Broekhoff returns to the place he first picked up a basketball, playing for the first time since injuring his shoulder in round 15 of NBL22.

Phoenix fans will also get the first glimpse of past training player and new recruit, Junior Madut

Broekhoff and Madut will be joined by other roster players St Mary’s alumni Dane Pineau, Kyle Adnam, and Rueben Te Rangi.

The Gaels are touring around Australia for their pre-season games. They have already played in Sydney and left with two wins over Hills Hornets and Sydney Uni Basketball.

The college basketball team faced Melbourne United last night and continued their Australian tour winning streak by 11 points.
