100 NBL Coached Games for Mike Kelly

Kelly spent 95 games at Cairns Taipans from 2018-2021 in amongst senior roles with both Melbourne United and the Perth Wildcats.
Kelly’s career has seen him turn the Taipans roster a full-180, finishing dead-last in his inaugural season, to reaching the semi-finals the next.
That stunning turnaround saw him nab the ‘Coach of the Year’ title in 2020.
Kelly was humbled to find out he reached the milestone but says it won’t be a focus, hoping his side gets back on the winner’s list after starting the season 1-3.
“It’s nice to reach milestones, but it’s not really anything I care about. If we get that win, if we play the right way and give ourselves a chance to win, that is what I will be stoked about,” Kelly said.
(Kelly will coach his 100th NBL game on Saturday.)
Kelly’s 100 games sits a little ways off his former mentor Brian Goorjian, who coached a mammoth 803 games Australia’s top-flight of basketball.
