Newest Phoenix import Brandon Ashley arrived in Melbourne late Friday night before joining his new team on Monday morning for his first day with the club.
Newest Phoenix import Brandon Ashley arrived in Melbourne late Friday night before joining his new team on Monday morning for his first day with the club.
The 28-year-old is no stranger to the NBL having played with New Zealand Breakers for the NBL19/20 season before returning back to the US to play for Ignite in the G League.
“Glad to be back in the NBL, glad to be out here with the South East Melbourne,” he said.

On completion of his first training session, Ashley raved about his new teammates.
“Great group of guys, just even with my first hours here with the team, great chemistry, a lot of talent as well, really looking forward to rest of this year,” he said.

Ashley promises Phoenix fans that he will bring his best every game and described his versatility as his greatest attribute.
“I like to think of myself as a very versatile player...I will be able to play multiple positions...I'm just a competitive guy that just wants to come out and do whatever is needed in order to help my team win,” he said.
(Ashley will play his first game with the Phoenix on Sunday against the JackJumpers.)
Ashley is excited to be on the floor this Sunday against the JackJumpers in Tasmania before he his first home game in Gippsland on Tuesday against Cairns.
"I'm really looking forward to it...it's really great to be back in the NBL and I'm looking forward to rest of this year.
