Mitch Creek has avoided major damage to his right eye and is likely to line-up for Phoenix on January 16 against the Brisbane Bullets at a sold out State Basketball Centre.
Creek’s eye injury occurred in the middle of the last quarter against the Taipans on Sunday afternoon during a contest which saw Creek sit out the remainder of the game.
Creek was taken to hospital following the match, where medical staff revealed that he had an abrasion to the sclera, the white part of the eye that helps protect the eye's delicate internal structures. He will need to rest the eye over the coming days before being reassessed later in the week.

In further promising news for the Phoenix, import duo Gary Browne and Trey Kell are both likely to return from injury, giving Phoenix it’s preferred starting line-up for the first time since Round 11.
Browne has missed the last five games since injuring his calf in the one-point win against the Kings back in Round 11.
Kell has missed the last two games for the Phoenix due to a knee knock he sustained in the second quarter of the game against the JackJumpers a week ago.
Import @Gbrowne14 has been working hard in Melbourne while the team has been away, pushing to re-join them on the court as soon as possible. 👊
