For the Phoenix, the FIBA window comes at the perfect time after back-to-back losses at the hands of cross-town rivals Melbourne United and the Adelaide 36ers.
The latter shocked the league, with the Phoenix on the road and up by 18 points at the main break, only to fall at the hands of a DJ Vasiljevic masterclass.
According to captain Mitch Creek, the 6-6 Phoenix will use the next two weeks to reflect on the losses and come back firing on all cylinders.
“I believe that every game you don’t just kind of let go and think, well, it’s a loss, and we got two weeks now until we play again,” Mitch Creek said post-game.
“You’ve really got to sit in it a little bit and go back over it, and then after a day, you decompress.
“There’s always lessons to take out everything good and bad.”

Understandingly, head coach Mike Kelly was at a loss after the capitulation in Adelaide, saying that the current side isn’t up to scratch.
“Offensively, we know that playing a bad game of basketball, we scored 93 points without really playing much defence for three quarters.
“We do that and probably average 120 because we’d have a much easier and more efficient offence.
“It’s about just learning and watching and patiently having conversations with yourself and being honest with your performances first and then being able to reflect with other guys about what’s going on out there and how can we best navigate a way forward,” Creek said.
The Phoenix will look to get back to their winning ways when they return to the court in a fortnight on December 2 to take on the New Zealand Breakers at home at the Fire Pit.
