The Phoenix are out for redemption when they go into their do-or-die clash on Sunday at the Fire Pit against the 36ers.
Despite a spirited effort and a career-night for Angus Glover, a last quarter blitz led by Keanu Pinder and Bryce Cotton sent Phoenix back home with a loss to prepare for the Play-In game.
Josh King’s side have a chance to lock in their spot in the Playoffs against the Illawarra Hawks, with their first task the Adelaide 36ers in front of the Phoenix faithful.
The last time the two sides met was at the start of the month, where the heroics of Joe Wieskamp’s block and bucket sealed the win after a comeback from Mike Wells’s side.
Finishing in sixth position, Adelaide 36ers travelled to Sydney on Thursday night and after a close battle held on and took the victory by seven-points to continue their Cinderella finals run.
The winner gets to continue on their road toward the championship series and take on the Illawarra Hawks in a best of three Playoffs, the loser resigned to their campaign being closed.
