Looking to get back on the winners list against an undermanned Cairns Taipans, the Phoenix made an incredible start to the game, with 34 first-quarter points.

The Eltham Wildcat Alumni once again came out of the gates on fire, hitting four threes in the first term at 3-4, before scoring a career-high 22 points with three assists and two steals to accompany.
Derrick Walton Jr made his return for the Phoenix after missing a quartet of games with a hamstring injury, the American guard managing 17 minutes for the game scoring eight points.
Co-captain Jordi Hunter was impressive - battling as the anchor of a revitalised Phoenix defence, while still managing to score 14 points and secure six rebounds.

The Phoenix impressively won the rebounding battle 44-37, with the offensive board count going the way of the hosts 14-7.
Malique Lewis celebrated his 20th Birthday with a win, the Next Star continuing to make his mark in mock drafts contributing seven points two steals and a low error play style.
The one-two scoring of Nathan Sobey and Matt Hurt continues to flourish scoring 14 and 15 points respectively.
The Phoenix managed to cause 17 turnovers in the game resulting in 27 points off turnovers, a tip of the cap to their improved defense.
Tensions did flair late in the game between the two sides, the climax being Cairns guard Jonah Antonio being ejected from the game.
The Phoenix would push the margin to a game-high 24-point lead in the 4th term before cruising to a 97-74 win.
Josh King has now led the Phoenix to three victories from four attempts, and will look to chalk up another victory next Friday at the RAC arena as they take on the Perth Wildcats ahead of the FIBA break.
