South East Melbourne Phoenix guard Cam Gliddon will immediately return to Melbourne for the birth of his second child.
“We’re really excited for Cam and wish he and Sarah all the best during this exciting time,” said South East Melbourne Phoenix CEO Tommy Greer. “We’re excited for the arrival of another Phoenix fan.”
Gliddon was thankful to the Phoenix for giving him their full support through this time and allowing him to be with his wife for the birth of their second child.
"My team mates, coaches and staff on this trip have been checking in with me regularly and making sure I understood that they were happy with whatever decision I made, whether it was to play on or head back,” he said. "I appreciate them supporting me and my family and I really hope to rejoin them as soon as possible after the birth."
The Phoenix are working with the NBL and State Governments to try and gain a travel exemption for Cam so he can return to the team after the birth.
