Hunter initially had Asia-out clauses in his contract, but those have been removed and the 209cm big man will remain in the Heartland for NBL25 and at least two seasons beyond that.
Phoenix General Manager of Basketball Operations Simon Mitchell said it was a great coup for the club to keep someone of such a high calibre.
“It’s a great sign for the club that someone who is in such high demand has opted to eliminate the exit clauses from his contract and remain fully committed to the program,” Mitchell said.
“Jordi has really taken on a leadership role since arriving at the Phoenix. We have watched these qualities develop immensely over the past months and we want to ensure they are a foundation of this team into the future.”

Hunter has already made an indelible mark on the franchise, named as a co-captain in his first season in the Heartland.
“I really believe in what’s being built here and I look forward to being a part of some success with the Phoenix,” Hunter said.
Hunter is averaging 13.8 points and 8.2 rebounds per game, shooting 63 per cent from the field throughout NBL25.
