South East Melbourne Phoenix will be without the services of import guard Trey Kell III for tomorrow night’s clash against the Kings after failing to recover in time from a minor knee complaint.
Trey Kell went down with a knock to his knee in the second quarter on Sunday in the loss to the JackJumpers and couldn’t play out the game. His condition will be assessed again ahead of Sunday’s game against the Taipans.
Anzac Rissetto will take Kell’s place in the side tomorrow night.
(Kell after he sustained the knee injury in Sunday's game in the second quarter.)
In better news for the Phoenix, Ryan Broekhoff has made the trip up to Sydney and will make his return against the Kings, after injuring his hip against the same team a fortnight ago in the double overtime win in Gippsland. Broekhoff has missed the last three games but has recovered in time to suit up against them again tomorrow night.
The loss of Kell leaves the Phoenix down on guards for tomorrow night, with only Kyle Adnam, Junior Madut and DP Owen Foxwell left to shoulder most of the load after Gary Browne continues to recover from a knee injury.
(Broekhoff has travelled to Sydney and will return tomorrow night against the Kings.)
Tune in tomorrow night at 7:30pm AEDT on ESPN via Kayo Sports or Foxtel to see the clash against the Kings live.
