Kyle Adnam Named Phoenix Captain for NBL22

Kyle Adnam will captain the South East Melbourne Phoenix for the second consecutive year.
A Kilsyth junior being named captain of the NBL team representing the region he grew up in is an honour for Adnam.

The 27-year-old signed a two year contract extension with the Phoenix at the end of last season.
“To be able to captain a team in the place you grew up playing and where you fell in love with the game is a huge honour," he said. "We have a great group and a bunch of guys who all lead in their own way.”
Adnam said his style of leadership could be described in two words, vocal and approachable.

“This year on and off-court I’m focussed on being more vocal, but I also want to be an approachable leader, someone guys feel they can talk to about things on court and off-court. I have the ball in my hands a bit being point guard so being vocal on court is really important.
Adnam put together a career-best season in NBL21, averaging 12.6 points and 3.6 assists as co-captain of the semi-finalist Phoenix.
