The Phoenix have signed Bendigo Braves import Malcolm Bernard as an injury replacement player for Trey Kell.
The 198-centimetre guard/forward joins the Phoenix after averaging 18 points a game for the Braves in NBL1 this season.
Previously he played in Russia, the NBA G League and with Rockhampton in the QBL.
Bernard will remain with the team until Kell has recovered from a broken rib.
"We felt in the short term we needed to add a player to our roster," Greer said. "Having Ryan and Trey unable to play, we wanted to find a versatile player to help us commence the season with the strongest line-up possible. Malcolm had a great season in NBL1 and we're looking forward to having him join the team."
(Bernard played for the Bendigo Braves in the NBL1 this season.)
