LIMITED TICKETS REMAIN FOR THROWDOWN 34, PRESENTED BY AXS

Josh King’s side recorded their second win of the season when they defeated the Illawarra Hawks by 17 points on Sunday in front of their Phoenix faithful.

The much-needed victory has set the Phoenix up for a clash against cross-town rivals Melbourne United in Throwdown 34, presented by AXS. Having faced them just a fortnight ago, the team will be out for redemption and to even the series so far in NBL27 when they meet at the Fire Pit on Saturday night.

Melbourne United survived a late run from the Adelaide 36ers in the Ignite Cup game on Wednesday night, taking the win by five points.

TEAMS

Phoenix

Daniel Foster is recovering well from his back issue but will miss the United game, he will be replaced by Pat Ryan. Hunter Goodrick is a day-to-day progress with his knee pain and will also miss tomorrow’s game, he will be replaced by Ellis Biggar.

United

United will be without captain Chris Goulding, who suffered a calf injury at training in the lead-up to Round 3.

KEEP AN EYE ON

Sobey vs Anthony

In the Phoenix’s win over the Hawks on Sunday, co-captain Nathan Sobey showed the league why he isn’t slowing down at 36 years old. The guard scored a game-high 24 points as he starts getting back into the groove of his career-best season in NBL26 after recovering from a back injury.

While we didn’t get to see this match-up last time the two sides met, it will be one to keep an eye on Saturday night as ex-NBA star Cole Anthony averages 24.6 points per game.
