Akech Aliir was named Mt Gambier’s MVP at their awards night during the week, before leading his side to victory in their qualifying final against the Kilsyth Cobras. Aliir shot 100% from the field in the 36-point win, recording 17 points and six rebounds in the final.
Mt Gambier dominated from the opening buzzer, outscoring Kilsyth 56–28 in the first half and extending the margin to secure a commanding win. They now advance to the preliminary final, where they will face the winner of the semi-final between the Eltham Wildcats and Sandringham Sabres.

DJ Mitchell’s NBL1 North season with Ipswich has come to an end following a six-point loss to the Gold Coast Rollers in the final regular season game. Despite the result, Mitchell maintained his strong form, finishing with 22 points and five rebounds.
