Dark textured background

See below for how our Phoenix-rostered players are faring locally and internationally.

Mitch Creek – Atléticos de San German (BSN)
31PTS, 10REBS, 5ASTS, 2STLS vs Criollos de Caguas
22PTS, 5REBS, 3ASTS, 2BLKS vs Osos de Manati

After his stint in China, where he helped the Xinjiang Flying Tigers to the CBA grand final series, Creek has flown to Puerto Rico to play out the rest of San German's season in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN).

The forward announced his return to the Puerto Rico league in style with a double-double, claiming 31 points and 10 rebounds in the three-point win over Criollos de Caguas.

In this morning's game against Osos de Manati, San German lost by 12 points, but even with 22 points and five rebounds for Creek, it wasn't enough to give him his second win of the weekend.

Luke Fennell – Centre of Excellence (NBL1 East)
34PTS, 2REBS, 5ASTS vs Illawarra Hawks
22PTS, 6REBS, 3ASTS, 1STL vs Maitland Mustangs

After spending a few weeks in Melbourne getting around with some of his new Phoenix teammates, Fennell re-joined his NBL1 team and went 2-0 across the weekend.

His training under head coach Mike Kelly assisted in his stellar return as he recorded 34 points and five assists in the 105-100 win over Illawarra. Following it up with 22 points and six rebounds in the 121-99 victory over Maitland.

Nathan Sobey - Ipswich Force (NBL1 North)
30PTS, 8REBS, 1AST, 3STLS vs Northside Wizards
23PTS, 4REBS, 8ASTS vs Sunshine Coast Phoenix

After a bye and a week's break in the Heartland working out with his new NBL team, Sobey showed his force in a stand-out weekend with Ipswich.

In game one against the Northside Wizards, Ipswich broke their five-game losing streak with a 111-82 win. Sobey dominated on the scoreboard, notching 30 points and eight rebounds in the 29-point win.

In their second game, Ipswich went down by five points against the Sunshine Coast, but Sobey continued his fine form with 23 points and eight assists.

Ben Ayre – Wellington Saints (NZNBL)
29PTS, 5REBS, 11ASTS vs Hawkes Bay Hawks
9PTS, 1REB, 7ASTS vs Canterbury Rams

The Saints returned to the winner's list with a massive 26-point win over Hawkes Bay. Ayre collected a double-double with 29 points and 11 assists and was the MVP for that game for the fifth time in the season.

Unfortunately, the Saints couldn't overcome the top-of-the-ladder Canterbury Rams, going down 85-110. The point guard recorded nine points and seven assists in the loss.

Angus Glover – Eltham Wildcats (NBL1 South)
21PTS, 11REBS, 5ASTS, 1STL vs NW Tasmania

Unfortunately, the Wildcats lost to NW Tasmania by only three points on Saturday night. Despite the loss, Glover continued his high-number performance with a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds.

Owen Foxwell – Eltham Wildcats (NBL1 South)
24PTS, 2REBS, 1AST, 1STL vs NW Tasmania

In the Wildcat's 93-96 loss to NW Tasmania, Foxwell was also one of the best performing alongside Glover, recording 21 points.

Kody Stattmann – Cairns Marlins (NBL1 North)
43PTS, 7REBS, 2ASTS vs South West Metro Pirates

Stattmann blew the roof off at Trinity Ford Stadium in Cairns on the weekend, recording a 43-point game.

In the Cairns 13-point win over South West Metro Pirates, the guard went 53 per cent from beyond the arc and collected seven boards in his career-defining game.

Luke Rosendale – Ballarat Miners (NBL1 South)
10PTS, 2REBS, 4ASTS vs Nunawading Spectres
24PTS, 5REBS, 7ASTS, 1STL vs Ringwood Hawks

The Miners again went 1-1 across the weekend in NBL1 South, holding on to their third spot on the ladder. In their first hit-out for round 11, the Miners had a disappointing loss to Nunawading, going down 79-94. Rosendale recorded 10 points in the loss.

But Rosendale and Ballarat bounced back in their second game, winning 108-99 over Ringwood. Rosendale collected 24 points and seven assists in the nine-point victory.
