Off-Season Player Wrap: Foxwell and Lewis shine in front of NBA scouts

The Phoenix team continue to work hard during the off-season for around the world, see how they performed below.
Owen Foxwell (NBL Next Stars – Eurocamp)
19PTS, 4REBS, 5ASTS, 5STLS vs Eurocamp 2 (W)
5PTS, 7REBS, 3ASTS, 1STL vs Team World (W)
The 21-year-old is showing his potential to NBA scouts as he plays for the NBL Next Stars at the Adidas Eurocamp, alongside Phoenix teammate Malique Lewis and New Zealand Breakers Next Star Karim Lopez. The team is being coached by NBA legend Phil Handy in Italy.
The squad faced off against Eurocamp and Team World in their first two games and came away 2–0, heading into the finals. Foxwell lit up the court in Game 1, recording 19 points and five steals in a five-point win. He returned to the floor the next day with a quieter performance, finishing with five points and seven rebounds in the win over Team World.
The NBL Next Stars take on 3SSB Select in their final game on Tuesday morning, Melbourne time.
Malique Lewis (NBL Next Stars – Eurocamp)

One of the older players on the team alongside Owen Foxwell, Phoenix Next Star Malique Lewis continues to make his case for the NBA Draft later in June, putting in a stellar performance in Game 1 at Eurocamp. Scoring 18 points and grabbing eight rebounds, Lewis made an impact at both ends of the floor.
Like Foxwell, the forward had a quieter outing the following day but still worked hard in the NBL Next Stars’ win.

DJ Mitchell (Ipswich Force)

Newly signed Phoenix player DJ Mitchell recently re-joined the Ipswich Force in NBL1 North. Despite two losses for Ipswich over the weekend, Mitchell put up strong numbers, giving Phoenix fans reason for excitement heading into NBL26. In Game 1, the power forward recorded 17 points, and he backed it up the next night with 22 points and six rebounds against Logan Thunder, taking on former Phoenix player Matt Kenyon’s side.
Nathan Sobey (Santeros de Aguada)

Santeros de Aguada went 1–2 across the last week as Sobey continued to post strong numbers for the Puerto Rican side. His standout performances came against top-two team Cangrejeros—where he shot 7/11 from the field in an eight-point loss—and on Monday morning in the win over San German, where he dropped 23 points and grabbed six rebounds.
The team heads into the final month of the regular season with an 8–16 record, currently sitting sixth on the ladder as they push for a top-four finish and a finals berth.
Angus Glover (Ringwood Hawks)
17PTS, 2REBS, 5ASTS, 2STLS vs Waverley Falcons (W)
Glover delivered an impressive dunk in the Hawks’ 15-point win over the Waverley Falcons. The guard also tallied 17 points and five assists in a standout performance.

Akech Aliir (Mt Gambier Pioneers)
20PTS, 12REBS, 6ASTS, 2STLS vs Dandenong Rangers (L)
Another double-double for Akech Aliir, who recorded 20 points and 12 rebounds in a heartbreaking two-point loss to Dandenong over the weekend.
Gorjok Gak (Casey Cavillers)
10PTS, 3REBS, 1AST vs Keilor Thunder (W)
Gak faced off against new teammate Daniel Foster and the Keilor Thunder over the weekend, with Gak coming out on top. The centre scored 10 points in the 10-point win on Saturday night.

10PTS, 6REBS, 4ASTS vs Casey Cavillers (L)
Facing off against Phoenix teammate Gorjok Gak, Foster’s Keilor side couldn’t get the win over Casey, going down by 10 points. The development player contributed 10 points and six rebounds in the game.

Luke Rosendale (Ballarat Miners)
30PTS, 4REBS, 3ASTS, 1STL vs Bendigo Braves (W)
Rosendale had a monster game in Ballarat’s three-point victory over Bendigo on Saturday night. The captain racked up 30 points, shooting 64.71% from the field in the win.
Tom Vodanovich (Auckland Tuatara)
9PTS, 7REBS, 3ASTS vs Franklin Bulls (W)
Auckland bounced back with a one-point win over the Franklin Bulls on the weekend, following a couple of losses in previous rounds. Vodanovich helped seal the win with nine points and seven rebounds.
