Angus Glover, along with his two new Phoenix teammates DJ Mitchell and Akech Aliir, was among 11 NBL players selected to represent the league in Japan against B. LEAGUE United.
The NBL Select Team had a successful run, walking away with two wins. Starting in both games over the weekend, Glover had a positive showing, collecting a total of 23 points and showing real prowess offensively and defensively.

DJ Mitchell (NBL Select Team)

Rejoining the NBL for the first time since early 2024, Mitchell reunited with a few ex-Brisbane Bullets teammates and his new Phoenix cohort. In game one, Mitchell was aggressive defensively, recording nine rebounds and seven points in the nine-point win on Saturday night. He had a quieter game on Sunday but still contributed to the eight-point win.

Coming off the bench for the NBL Select Team, Aliir was pivotal as the extra big behind Mason Peatling. He recorded a combined nine points, nine rebounds, two assists and a block across the two wins.

The Phoenix development player continued his standout season in NBL1 with Keilor, recording 22 points and seven rebounds. Despite his strong performance, the Thunder went down by a heartbreaking one point to the Hawks.
Gorjok Gak (Casey Cavillers)

Gorjok got his chance to start for Casey in their two games across the weekend, where they went 1–1. In game one on Saturday against the Bendigo Braves, the centre had 12 points, six rebounds, and a massive three blocks in the 12-point win.
Back on the court for game two against the Eltham Wildcats, Gak recorded eight points and four rebounds in the 10-point loss.
