South East Melbourne boasted record crowds five years into the competition, highlighted by five sell outs including all 4 games played out in the community at the Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium and the State Basketball Centre. Games played at John Cain Arena have seen a remarkable 30 per cent growth in attendance from NBL23 to now.
Already posting the incredible feat of surpassing a record number of Phoenix members before the first tip off of the season had even occurred, the fans in the South East have not only signed up, but turned up.
Phoenix CEO Tommy Greer thanked the passionate South East Melbourne fans who continue to be a sixth man for the team.
“It’s incredible to look up in the stands and see a sea of green populating the seats, our fans really are the best in the league,” Greer said.
“While the team are looking to improve week on week, one thing that remains a really positive constant is our fans continuing to buy a ticket to supporting the team.”

Greer also noted that those looking to see the team up close and experience the atmosphere of the Fire Pit still had some opportunities in NBL24.
“We play the JackJumpers (February 10) and Kings (February 17) at John Cain Arena to round out the regular season which are both tracking to be some of our biggest crowds this season.”
“It’s not too late to come and experience a Phoenix game for the first time, and if you have already, have another great night out with family and friends.”
Additionally, the Phoenix will celebrate their 150th game in the NBL with the inaugural ‘Phoenix Fest’ in partnership with John Cain Arena – with entertainment, food trucks and prizes to be won ahead of the JackJumpers game on February 10.
