The Phoenix have signed NBL championship winning centre Jordan Hunter to a three year deal with a mutual option in final year, joining South East Melbourne for NBL25.
The 27-year-old is one of the premier centres in the competition and will bring a wealth of experience to form a new front-court under Mike Kelly.
Hunter was a pivotal part of the Sydney Kings back-to-back championship run in NBL23, and has played 127 games in the NBL for the Kings.
Originally from Sydney, Hunter stands at 209cm and averaged 10.3 points and seven rebounds per game in his last campaign.
Phoenix General Manager of Basketball Simon Mitchell believes Hunter could emerge as the best centre in the competition by season’s end.
“Jordan has shown what he is capable of on court in arguably the toughest position, he is at the perfect period in his career to explode and dominate,” Mitchell said.
“The Phoenix are looking forward to Jordan forming a pivotal piece of our team puzzle moving forward.”
Hunter joins Angus Glover and Nathan Sobey as off-season acquisitions.
