It's time to find out who the Goat player of the Phoenix is from our players past and present, decided by you!
First up for the bracket of 16 is inaugural player Mitch Creek against young veteran Reuben Te Rangi.
MITCH CREEK
Games: 143 | PPG: 20.5 | RPG: 6.6 | APG: 3.0 | SPG: 1.0
Mitch Creek has dominated his time at the Phoenix. The first-ever signing for the NBL’s ninth franchise after a stint in the NBA with the Brooklyn Nets and Minnesota Timberwolves, Creek hit the ground running and never looked back.
The Horsham product has won each of the five Phoenix MVP awards, been named to the All-NBL First Team and Second Team (twice) and leads every overall stat category for the club.
Already with 197 games of NBL experience under his belt before he reached the Heartland, Creek made an immediate impact and led the team to their first playoffs appearance in just their second year of existence.
REUBEN TE RANGI
Games: 120 | PPG: 5.6 | RPG: 2.9 | APG: 0.9 | SPG: 0.5
A heart-and-soul player of the club and one of only three Phoenix alumni to notch more than 100 NBL games in the Heartland, Te Rangi will forever be etched in Phoenix history.
Joining the club in the South East Melbourne’s second-year of existence, Te Rangi became a vital cog on both ends of the floor. Quick hands and basketball smarts on show every game, his ability to find space in the corners and knock down the three became extremely valuable to the Phoenix.
