South East Melbourne Phoenix is partnering with Leaders of Evolution - an e-learning company that combines sports, education and technology for optimal learning - to launch The Phoenix Flight Path.
As the first NBL team to partner with Leaders of Evolution, learners will gain exclusive access to storytelling and lessons from the inner sanctum of a professional sporting program. The first suite of learning programs will focus on encouraging performance behaviours and a growth mindset to help achieve in sport and life.
Leaders of Evolution will provide the necessary tools for crafting a unique online learning environment for students and teachers across Victoria and Australia to access.
The program will initially be rolled out in the Latrobe Valley region before expanding into neighbouring Gippsland areas and around Victoria.
Phoenix Community Manager Brooke Steindl is excited to offer the first program of its type from an NBL club.
“We see The Phoenix Flight Path as a progressive opportunity to enhance our engagement with our wider community and connect our additional community offerings in the areas of mental well-being and inclusion,” Steindl said.
“Partnering with Leaders of Evolution was a positive step in bringing this program to life given their experience in developing high quality online learning platforms. Together we share the same vision for this platform and are excited to launch the first course in 2021 to secondary schools in the Latrobe Valley.”
The Phoenix have formed a strong connection with the Latrobe Valley region and are committed to continuing to grow this relationship through community program engagement. The introduction of The Phoenix Flight Path will be a strong, positive step to achieving this.
The three-year partnership with Leaders of Evolution promises to bring students into the energised community of the Phoenix organisation and show how the club fosters high-performance behaviours, inspiring learners to rise up to their leadership potential and encourage social and emotional growth.
The initial course announcement will take place in the coming months, with content to be focused on supporting the overall wellbeing of Year 8 and 9 students and aligned to the Victorian Secondary School Curriculum.
The program will be proudly supported by the Victorian State Government and Melbourne Sports Centres and is aimed at improving individual capability, covering topics such as positive self-image, growth mindset, performance planning and emotional intelligence.
“The Phoenix organisation have achieved so much on and off the court in their short time in the National Basketball League,” Leaders of Evolution Co-founder, Jon Shepherd said. “We look forward to supporting their unwavering commitment to connect with their fans and the wider community.
“Together we are poised to truly revolutionise the learning experience by harnessing world-class e-learning curricular."
This partnership will facilitate immense growth for learners as South East Melbourne Phoenix delivers a professional blended-learning approach providing the skills adaptive to both sport, the future workforce and everyday life.
The partnership will maximise South East Melbourne Phoenix athletes, coaches and ambassador’s profiles and bring critical organisation intellectual property from the Heartland of basketball directly into the hands of fans, providing a new way to engage with their favourite team.
