South East Melbourne Phoenix is proud to announce a new partnership with Westfield Knox, delivering holiday basketball camps for the local community and strengthening grassroots participation across the Heartland.
Sitting at the centre of the largest basketball participation zone in Australia, the Phoenix will host four basketball camps at the full-size Westfield Knox basketball court across the 2026 school holidays.
Phoenix players will lead sessions focused on developing fundamental skills in a fun, safe and inclusive environment for participants of all abilities.
Adding to the excitement, the NBL’s most-loved mascot, Birdman, will also be in attendance, bringing energy and entertainment to each camp.
South East Melbourne Phoenix CEO Simon Derrick said the partnership creates greater access to the game for young people across the region.
“Partnering with Westfield Knox gives more kids the opportunity to get involved with basketball in a safe and inclusive community setting, right here in the Heartland,” Derrick said.
“We pride ourselves on making a genuine impact in our local community, and by expanding our holiday camp program, we’re giving more kids the chance to get active, learn new skills and fall in love with the game during the school holidays."
Westfield Knox Centre Manager Christine Hill said, “We’re incredibly excited to be partnering with South East Melbourne Phoenix to help grow basketball in the community and strengthen connections both on and off the court. With inclusive camps, family activities and opportunities for young people to get involved, there’s so much to look forward to as we bring basketball fans and customers together in new and meaningful ways throughout 2026.”
