South East Melbourne Phoenix will migrate to Latrobe City on 25 January 2022 for an in-season NBL match at the Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium (GRISS).
The Phoenix will be out to replicate their trailblazing Traralgon form in their regular season GRISS debut following a pre-season triumph over the Brisbane Bullets at the venue in 2019.
“The squad was excited to hit the courts in front of a packed new-look stadium following a $17 million upgrade to the GRISS,” SEM Phoenix CEO Tommy Greer said.
(Phoenix are excited to play at the newely upgraded GRISS in Traralgon.)
Gippsland fans will have the chance to see the stars of the NBL up close at the blockbuster match as the Phoenix rebound from a stellar 2020/21 season.
The landmark fixture is the result of a long-term working relationship between council, SEM Phoenix and Victorian Major Events.
The Phoenix will be involved in a number of activations with the community during their visit.
Tickets for the Tuesday, 25 January match will go on sale in early 2022.
