South East Melbourne Phoenix return to their spiritual home on January 10 to take on the NBL's newest team, the Tasmania JackJumpers.
The last time Phoenix played at SBC in front of a crowd was during the NBL Cup in March of 2021 against the Perth Wildcats, a game that ended in a heartbreaking one-point loss, though that game was considered an “away” game.
(Last time Phoenix played at SBC infront of a crowd was in March 2021.)
The last home game for Phoenix at SBC was on Valentine’s Day 2021, where they again played the Wildcats notching up a 25-point win in front of an empty stadium after Victoria had gone into a snap lockdown.
"Each time we've played a home game at SBC the game has sold out in less than five days," CEO Tommy Greer said. "Our members, fans, players, and staff love this game each season, the atmosphere is electric. Don't hesitate to buy tickets, this is one game not to miss, and one game that will sell out."

(It has been 10 months since Phoenix fans been to SBC.)
After missing the majority of last season, centre Dane Pineau is excited to be back preparing to play at SBC in front of a full grandstand.
“I remember it being so loud last time that we couldn’t even hear each other on the court," Pineau said.
“The best part though is seeing a whole stadium filled with Phoenix fans, and I can’t wait to be playing in front of them again."
Returning home to the Heartland is something Mitch Creek looks forward to each season, with the games in the South East a highlight for the playing group.
“We’re about to put on a show and repay all the love each and every Phoenix fan has shown us from home during Covid. We’re going to make sure SBC is jumping!” Creek said.
Make sure to buy your tickets now for State Basketball Centre and support Phoenix in their return to SBC as tickets will sell out fast.

“We love playing out in the Heartland, the energy and atmosphere is amazing, the crowd is a sea of green and it always makes it special for us players,” captain Kyle Adnam said on playing at SBC. "It feels like home."
