The Phoenix have signed American guard Omari Moore to a one-year contract for the NBL26 season.

Moore, a California native, has featured in the NBL G-League and most recently played with Darussafaka Lassa in the Turkish Basketball Super League.

The 24-year-old stands at 6”6 and provides excellent ball-handling and decision-making at the point guard position.

Phoenix General Manager of Basketball Operations Simon Mitchell said Moore’s size and versatility makes for a tough match-up for opposition teams.

“It’s great to have a player of that size who can be your primary ball handler and decision maker, but also swing to other positions when required. His size also allows him to defend at multiple positions,” Mitchell said.

“Omari is extremely skilled, exceptional in the open court and that will no doubt translate to the Australian game which we’re excited about.”

Moore is the first import signed to the Phoenix roster for the upcoming season, and joins Nathan Sobey, Angus Glover, Jordan Hunter, Owen Foxwell, Akech Aliir, Gorjok Gak, DJ Mitchell, Malique Lewis and Daniel Foster as confirmed signings ahead of NBL26.
