South East Melbourne Phoenix is going the extra mile to stay connected with its passionate member base and reach out to those doing it tough in the Heartland and beyond.
It’s been a long and testing off-season for the NBL world both within clubland and across local basketball communities.
That’s why South East Melbourne Phoenix is going the extra mile to stay connected with its passionate member base and reach out to those doing it tough in the Heartland and beyond.
Phoenix players have already spent countless hours making over 400 calls (with more to come) to have a chat and thank members for their commitment to the organisation through an incredibly challenging period.

Without the support of the Phoenix family, the growing community in the Heartland of basketball simply wouldn’t be possible.
Hometown hero Kyle Adnam relished the opportunity to represent South East Melbourne in its inaugural year and is loving the club’s continued support as we edge closer to NBL21.
“It’s been amazing to call our Phoenix members, the backbone of our club,” Adnam says.
“They have shown their support for us during a difficult time, and we have all enjoyed nothing more than thanking them and hearing all the positive messages of excitement and support from each and every one of them.
“It’s one of my favorite things about this club, it feels as if we are one big family, and you can really feel that on those phone calls. I’m looking forward to seeing them all at Phoenix games as soon as possible.”
While we all patiently wait for restrictions to ease as we get on top of the Victorian COVID-19 outbreak, the Phoenix plan to keep engaging with fans at home.
Yep big shouts to @CammyGliddon. Not easy running a virtual clinic and Q&A for hundreds of kids simultaneously and he managed it beautifully. Brought smiles to a bunch of youngsters - including my little man - who are trying to stay active and positive while in lockdown. https://t.co/7Fg2YxhyC7

The club will be running an online school holiday program later this month to keep kids at home entertained and have also been sharing training at home videos on social media.
