Two of South East Melbourne’s rising stars will show their wares on the global stage, selected as part of the NBL Next Stars squad in Treviso.

Owen Foxwell and Malique Lewis will form part of the NBL Next Stars squad that’ll take part in the illustrious Adidas Eurocamp next week.

The Phoenix duo will be coached by three-time NBA Championship winning assistant coach Phil Handy, who boasts an enviable statistic of being part of six NBA Finals Series consecutively.

Foxwell is currently plying his trade with the Taranaki Airs in the NZNBL and made the cross-globe trek to Treviso on Italy’s northern coast.

Lewis recently took part in the NBA G-League Elite Camp with his eyes solely fixated on next month’s draft.

The camp – which propelled the likes of Taran Armstrong onto the world stage and eventually earned him an NBA contract – consists of six select teams, including one comprising entirely of the top emerging NBL talent for the first time.

Foxwell will likely be targeting a spot on an NBA Summer League roster this offseason, after the NBA Draft concludes on June 27.

The camp is exclusively for athletes aged 18-22, with more than 60 NBA scouts and 50 players agents set to be in attendance.

The NBL Next Stars team will play their first game on Saturday.
