More than 10,000 Victorian school students have taken part in Kmart Gametime clinics run by the South East Melbourne Phoenix.
The program is designed to bring basketball into schools and teach students the fundamentals of one of Australia’s fastest-growing participation sports.
More than 52 schools participated in the program, with students also given the opportunity to interact with Phoenix players during the sessions.

A highlight of the clinics came when Akech Aliir delivered a powerful dunk on the outdoor rings at Templeton Primary School, causing the pole to move and drawing a strong reaction from students in attendance.
The moment has since generated more than one million views across social media platforms.
Phoenix Academy Director and Community Programs Coordinator Nick Smith said community engagement remains a key focus for the club.
“It’s a feather in the cap to deliver this program to more than 30,000 kids over the last two years, but what we’re most proud of is how we are engaging the community,” Smith said.
“The players really enjoy running these clinics and it’s something we’ll continue to grow in the coming years.
“A big thank you to the National Basketball League and Kmart for assisting us with the execution of Gametime.”
