412 basketball fans joined South East Melbourne Phoenix for a range of online fun over the last fortnight’s Victorian school holiday period.
The ‘Phoenix Virtual Festival’ ran in place of the club’s usual holiday camps - cancelled due to Victoria’s lockdown – and was a great success thanks to the involvement of the Heartland community.
Phoenix players and coaches jumped on live Zoom calls with fans to play trivia, run workouts and skill sessions, and compete in NBA 2K on the PlayStation.
There were plenty of laughs and learnings for all who jumped aboard and made it the special event it turned out to be.
It was the second time the Phoenix Virtual Festival has been run while a return to face-to-face fun in Victoria draws closer.
The festival was supported by the club’s new Community Partner, Hart Sport.
Keep an eye out on our social media channels for camp registrations in the lead up to the next school holiday period!
