Tomorrow’s game between South East Melbourne Phoenix and the Perth Wildcats at the State Basketball Centre will go ahead.
Unfortunately, in accordance with stage four restrictions announced by the Victorian Government yesterday fans will not be able to attend the game.
All Phoenix members and corporate ticket holders will gain access to a designated Phoenix home game during the NBL Cup.
These games were not originally included as part of the Phoenix 14 home game membership package.
"After discussing the situation with the NBL we agreed to play the game in an empty stadium, as long as our members, corporate partners and fans were compensated,” CEO Tommy Greer said.
NBL Commissioner Jeremy Loeliger said: “As the Perth Wildcats were already in Melbourne, we decided it was appropriate to go ahead with this game.
"We are working with the Victorian Government to find a way through this challenging situation and this is the first step as we look ahead to the NBL Cup.”
Fans who have purchased a ticket to Sunday’s game will be able to use that ticket at a designated double header during the NBL Cup or request a refund through Ticketek.
