The South East Melbourne Phoenix have signed local guard Pat Ryan to a one-year deal as a development player for the NBL27 season.
The 23-year-old featured in 14 games for the Phoenix in NBL26, being elevated to the main roster for large parts of the 2025/26 campaign.
A Phillip Island local, Ryan impressed in his first professional season – playing pivotal minutes mid-season when injuries occurred to the main roster.
Phoenix General Manager of Basketball Operations Simon Mitchell said Ryan was a vastly improved player by the end of the season.
“Pat worked tirelessly in training, in the gym and was always looking to do post training sessions – it was very impressive to observe his improvement,” Mitchell said.
“Pat came into games ready, you just need to look back to the game against the Breakers in Gippsland where Pat’s scoring swung the momentum our way to an eventual win.”
