It's time to show some love for our teachers.
It's time to show some love for our teachers.
They are often forgotten and overlooked, and unless you have a teacher in your family you don’t see all the extra work they put into educating the countries children.
And over the last few years they've worked even harder, moving to educating over zoom, and then moving back into the classroom setting.
They are shaping the minds of our future leaders, and deserve all the thanks we can give them.
So to say thank you the Phoenix will be holding their first ever Teacher Appreciation game.
(This Saturday's game is to say thank you to our teachers.)
"This is a great way for us all to say thank you and to acknowledge the hard work teachers do," South East Melbourne CEO Tommy Greer said. "We have some great activations and entertainment planned for Saturday's game and are looking forward to hosting our educators."
This year the Phoenix launched an in classroom education program called Phoenix Soar; a four-week mental health and wellbeing program for grades five and six students, developed and delivered by South East Melbourne Phoenix. Through the program, students learn to recognize, regulate and articulate their emotions.
Combining classroom and on court learning, students hear from Phoenix professional athletes via engaging digital content, participate in discussions, complete their own Phoenix Soar workbook, and participate in drills and clinics using their learnings in real world scenarios.
The successful program was delivered to 3,211 students, at 29 schools, during 536 sessions.
The program opens for registrations on Wednesday and already has a waitlist of 32 schools that equates to 3547 students and 612 session.
