The Phoenix will face off against Japan’s Sunrockers Shibuya and Ryukyu Golden Kings, across two double-header game days at Perth’s High-Performance Centre, as preparations ramp up for NBL26.
The Ryukyu Golden Kings have strong ties with the Wildcats, with US forward Vic Law now part of the Ryukyu lineup. Law was a standout during his season in Perth in 2021-22, helping lead the Wildcats to the postseason.
The Ryukyu Golden Kings are one of Japan’s most decorated teams, with six national titles to their name, including the 2022-23 B.League championship. Their current roster includes American big man Jack Cooley and two-way forward Keve
Aluma.
Sunrockers Shibuya, based in Tokyo, is one of Japan’s oldest and most respected clubs, with this season marking the club's 90th anniversary. The team features standout performers such as American/Japanese forward Josh Hawkinson, who
averaged over 16 points and 8 rebounds per game last season and recently addedex-Sydney Kings swingman Didi Louzada from the Brazil National Team.
The International Series kicks off on Friday 12 September, with the tournament concluding on Sunday 14 September.
