South East Melbourne Phoenix are excited to deliver an early Xmas present to Phoenix fans. The Phoenix will travel to the Apple Isle this Christmas Day to face-off against the Tasmania JackJumpers in what is sure to be a cracker.
With the success of last year’s Xmas Day clash between the Sydney Kings and Melbourne United, which saw over 300,000 people tune in, the NBL has doubled down and added another match up to this year’s schedule to form a Christmas Day double-header.
The Phoenix will look to put on a feast of highlight plays for families watching on their TV sets during the big day of festivities and will hope to bring home the Xmas pudding with a big win against the JJ’s.
“The chance to play on Christmas and having the potential for hundreds of thousands of viewers to watch the Phoenix play is an exciting prospect to continue to grow our club and the NBL in Australia.,” said Phoenix CEO Tommy Greer.
Fans will be able to tune in to the clash via ESPN, Kayo Sports, or Channel 10 from 5:30pm.
(Phoenix will take on Tasmania JackJumpers in a double-header Christmas Day games.)
“After the incredible response we had last year it was important for us to schedule a huge Christmas double-header this season. We were the first professional sport to play a game on Christmas and as our League continues to grow, we want to keep breaking new ground and innovating. NBL on Christmas is now set to become a marquee fixture on the Australian sporting calendar, much like the NBA’s Christmas games are in America,” NBL Executive Director and Owner Larry Kestelman said.
The full Hungry Jacks NBL24 schedule will be released in the coming week, but Phoenix fans can mark this one in their calendars early.
Keep an eye across all Phoenix social media platforms and website to sync the full schedule upon its release.
