South East Melbourne Phoenix signed their first fresh addition for the NBL22 season yesterday in American big Zach Hankins.
Here's some of the thoughts of the Twitter community...
Exciting signing for the @SEMelbPhoenix. An athletic big man with US College, European and @NBA Summer League experience. Watch out for Zach playing in this year's @NBASummerLeague for the @Suns from August 9. #NBL22 https://t.co/7yyyPRCTLK

Long, mobile, athletic big man that can run the floor and finish with some authority around the rim. Exactly what the Phoenix needed.

Plus probably at the top of the leaderboard in regards to NBL Twitter handles. 😂 https://t.co/VimkAPmLto
Fascinated to see what kind of impact Hankins is going to have next season. Long, athletic and plays with enormous energy. The Phoenix have had their eyes on him for a couple of years. Signed with Galatasaray last year but parted ways prior to the season due to injury. https://t.co/VlBbCb0WGA

Looking forward to seeing how this new big guy fits into #NBL22 - looks a good signing for @SEMelbPhoenix https://t.co/cfiT5ly62f

Zach Hankins fills a big key need for the @SEMelbPhoenix after Yanni Wetzell's departure. He played College Ball at Xavier and recently played in Israel. He's a shot blocking machine, can crash the boards and can score highly. #NBL22 https://t.co/B7OcCjw19g

The Phoenix have been crying out for a monster big since they joined the league. Zach Hankins is 6’11 and 111kg. That’s a brute, right there. At 24, the right age profile, too. Will be interesting to see how he fits in with the up and down offence. Keen to see it!

Think he brings a few things the Phoenix have sorely required at the 5 spot since inception tbh.

Excited to see a big man rotation of Hankins and Pineau.
The big man we so desperately needed!!! 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
