A gallant effort throughout the game wasn’t enough for the Phoenix, going down to Cairns 74-95.
The Phoenix had pressure on their back as they come into the game undermanned and off back-to-back 28 point losses.
Alan Williams stepped up for his side, staying out of foul trouble and hitting a game-high 29 points.

In only his second game for the Phoenix, Abdel Nader started for the team and had seven point in the first quarter and ending the night on 12 points.
The game saw a see-saw event with Cairns coming out strong before the Phoenix returned the fire to keep the margin within reach throughout the game.
The Phoenix were down by seven points going into the final term, but the Taipans found their mojo and finished strong as the Phoenix in the end by 19 points.
