South East Melbourne co-captain and uncontracted free agent Kyle Adnam has announced his departure from the club on social media, bringing about an end to a four-year stint with the Phoenix.
Adnam – who won an NBL title with Melbourne United in 2018 – joined the inaugural Phoenix side off the back of one season with the Sydney Kings, three at Melbourne United and one at Illawarra.
He was named co-captain of the side for NBL23, alongside Mitch Creek and Ryan Broekhoff.
“Thank you South East Melbourne, what an incredible journey,” Adnam wrote.
“While the time has come for me to embark on an exciting now chapter of my basketball journey, it’s impossible to ignore the mark we have left here.
“To all the people who have supported me, I appreciate every single one of you.”
A big thank you to @KyleAdnam for your contribution to the Phoenix since our inaugural year and being our captain from 2020-23. 💚
