After 30 hours of travel, a weary Devin Thomas arrived at his first Phoenix training session.
After completing his physical screening he said he was excited to be joining the team and grateful for the opportunity.
“I’m extremely grateful to be here, it’s a great opportunity,” he said. “Everyone has been very kind and I’m just glad to be here.”

The 27-year-old has played in eight countries and while Australia is the farthest he’s ever been from home, he already feels like life will be a little easier.
“It’s great I don’t need to learn another language which is a plus,” he said.
Thomas promised Phoenix fans that they’ll enjoy what he brings to the team.
“I bring all-out effort, passion, I hate to lose and am an unselfish player,” he said.

The 206cm import who famously smashed a backboard with a dunk in high school, will play some of the four and five for the Phoenix. And while he’s not planning to smash any NBL backboards, you never know what might happen.
“I’m not coming in to smash backboards, but I wasn’t in high school when the backboard broke either so you never know.”
Thomas finalises an incredibly deep Phoenix roster that includes; Kyle Adnam, Ryan Broekhoff, Mitch Creek, Cam Gliddon, Reuben Te Rangi, Zhou Qi, Izayah Le’afa, Xavier Munford, Dane Pineau, Tohi Smith-Milner, Tristan Forsyth, and Owen Foxwell.
