More than 60 local basketball clubs have benefited from South East Melbourne Phoenix's Club Partnerships Program, with funds raised helping support the next generation of Australian basketball talent.
Through the program, local clubs partner with the Phoenix and receive a percentage of every general admission ticket sold through their unique link, creating a simple way to raise funds while bringing their members closer to the NBL experience.
In the second year of the initiative, more than $10,000 was returned to participating clubs. The program not only gave local players, families and supporters the opportunity to experience Phoenix game days, but also generated valuable revenue for grassroots basketball organisations.
Phoenix Consumer Manager Nick Mansfield said the program was an important way for the club to give back to the community that continues to support it.
“We’re really proud to be able to give back to the community in a meaningful way and help further develop basketball across the Heartland,” Mansfield said.
“We hope these funds can assist local clubs and associations with the costs of equipment, registrations, uniforms and other initiatives that help grow participation in the sport.”
Registrations for the Club Partnerships Program for the NBL27 season will open in September.
