South East Melbourne Phoenix expects to move into its new state-of-the-art training facility near the commencement of the 2023/24 season.
The $132 million redevelopment of SBC at Knox will see the Phoenix operating out of the best basketball specific high-performance facility in the country.
It will also allow the Phoenix to operate under the same roof, with the front office staff joining the performance team at SBC.
"This facility is a game changer for our franchise and will become a draw card for athletes from all around the world," South East Melbourne Phoenix CEO Tommy Greer said. "It will provide world-leading training and recovery facilities that will put us at the forefront of the NBL when it comes to a high-performance facility."

The Victorian Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events Steve Dimopoulos inspected the progress on the State Basketball Centre redevelopment project on Friday, backed by a $105 million investment from the Victorian government to create the premier basketball centre in Australia.
The Andrews Labor Government's $105m in tandem with Knox City Council's $27 million contribution to the project have been put to great use with the State Basketball Centre redevelopment works in progress, with steel skeleton now being installed.
"It's incredibly exciting for South East Melbourne, this region is the home of basketball in Australia, and a facility of this calibre just proves it further," Greer said.
"Basketball is huge in Victoria, and we're investing so more people can enjoy taking part in the sport they love, our top teams can train and be their best, and local sports have top class facilities," Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events Steve Dimopoulos said. "From community sports to elite competition, we're supporting our basketballers and gymnasts to excel.
