It's been a long time since the Phoenix have played in front of the Heartland. In fact it's been just shy of eight months.
It's been a long time since the Phoenix have played in front of the Heartland. In fact it's been just shy of eight months.
A lot can happen in eight months, the Phoenix played in their first finals series pushing eventual champion Melbourne United to the brink, the Heartland was in lockdown as the team prepared for the season behind closed doors.
Now we are just one day away from welcoming the best fans in the NBL back to the Fire Pit, and the excitement is palpable.
(The Fire Pit returns in Phoenix's opening game for the NBL season.)
"Without the Heartland the Phoenix would be just any other basketball team, the fans of South East Melbourne are what makes the club special," CEO Tommy Greer said.
"We're incredibly excited to start the season and welcome back the best fans in the country."
The Phoenix will hold a ceremonial re-lighting of the Fire Pit with what will be a spectacular fire show. Birdman will be tasked with setting the Fire Pit alight.
"The club and players plan on bringing the show, we need the fans to bring the noise," Greer said.
(Pre-Game entertainment starts at 7:46pm.)
Members will be able to collect their scarfs from the members desk on the southern concourse and this year we have introduced a special collector card series. Each game one player will be available for members to collect.
First up will be club captain Kyle Adnam, Adnam will sign 20 cards and 20 lucky members will randomly receive a signed card.
The pre-game show will start at 7:46pm so make sure your in your seats, you don’t want to miss this.
