Nader, 30, comes with a wealth of NBA experience having most recently played with the Phoenix Suns in 2022, featuring in the 2021 NBA Finals series under Monty Williams.
He also featured for both the Boston Celtics and Oklahoma City Thunder in five season in the NBA.
Standing at 196cm, Nader was named D-League Rookie of the Year in 2017 while with the Maine Red Claws.
South East Melbourne chief executive Tommy Greer spoke highly of Nader and looked forward to having the new acquisition touch down in Australia.

"Midseason roster changes although difficult provide great opportunity. We believe Abdel will bring with him great experience, talent and competitiveness on both ends of the floor,” Greer said.
“He possesses all the skills required to be a great compliment to the roster we have currently."
Nader will touch down in Melbourne on Thursday to complete physicals and meet the squad.
He will wear the No.11 for the Phoenix.
Kody Stattmann will return to the development player list upon the arrival of Nader.
