South East Melbourne Phoenix will be without star players Ryan Broekhoff and Gary Browne for 2-3 weeks after they both got injured in Sunday’s win in Gippsland.
South East Melbourne Phoenix will be without star players Ryan Broekhoff and Gary Browne for 2-3 weeks after they both sustained injuries in Sunday’s win in Gippsland.
Late in the second quarter, Browne strained his calf, which will see him miss 2-3 weeks, while Broekhoff injured his hip mid-way through the third quarter. He will miss at least two weeks.
Both players will be replaced by fan favourites and development players, Owen Foxwell for Browne and Anzac Rissetto for Broekhoff. Tohi Smith Milner comes into the team as the NRP for Zhou Qi.
(DPs Foxwell and Rissetto will be called up in Browne and Broekhoff's absence.)
Phoenix will travel to Brisbane Tuesday afternoon after a schedule change sees them play the Bullets on Wednesday night before a Christmas Eve tip-off against the Adelaide 36ers in Adelaide on Saturday night.
