Former South East Melbourne Phoenix import Keifer Sykes made his NBA pre-season debut for the Indiana Pacers yesterday.
Sykes was a star for the Phoenix last season, leading the team to their first finals appearance and earning himself a contract with Indiana.
The 27-year-old is fighting for a place in the team's final roster, which will be announced following their pre-season fixtures in the coming fortnight.
A five-point, two-assist night in 12 minutes of action tipped off his pre-season at Madison Square Garden against the New York Knicks.

It was a promising start for the former Phoenix fan favourite, draining a three and showcasing the quickness and grit that made him a weapon in the NBL.
In addition to his achievement of featuring in the NBA pre-season, Sykes also lived out a lifelong dream of competing with idol Derrick Rose.
Growing up in Chicago, Sykes has always seen Rose as an inspiration and described sharing the court with him as a 'movie' on Instagram.
The pair went head-to-head at the point guard position in an exciting tussle.
Sykes next hits the court on Saturday 10am (Melbourne time) against Cleveland.
