South East Melbourne Phoenix are the NBL's newest franchise, based in the Heartland of Australian Basketball.  The ‘Rise of the Phoenix’ resembles the re-birth of basketball in South East Melbourne and a commitment to deliver a sustainable NBL franchise for our nations’ most passionate fans. In order to ensure a prosperous future, the club is extremely excited to launch the PNX Foundation, which is dedicated to providing the club and its players every opportunity to perform at its peak and inspire future generations of Australian basketballers.

The Phoenix Foundation is dedicated to advancing grassroots basketball in Southeast Victoria, a region renowned for its deep-rooted basketball heritage. The Foundation’s purpose is to enhance both participation and performance at the community level by providing young athletes with access to top-tier coaching, developmental programs, and competitive play. By investing in local talent and fostering a supportive environment, the Phoenix Foundation aims to build a strong foundation for future basketball stars, strengthen the sport’s community ties, and elevate the overall level of play in the region. Through these efforts, the Foundation aspires to ensure that Southeast Victoria remains a vibrant and influential hub for basketball. History has taught us that placing a professional team in the Heartland of basketball doesn't ensure survival, and this makes us committed to doing it differently.
