Electric Atmosphere On and Off Court

In 14 attempts last season, the Phoenix carried a home-win percentage of 79 per cent, and with a 3-0 record this year, they boast the best ratio in the league in NBL24.

With the electricity of the Phoenix faithful cheering the side on, head coach Mike Kelly was impressed with the atmosphere of John Cain Arena.

"The atmosphere is really cool, and it's good to win at home with that support and pay back the fans," Kelly said post-game.

He was even shocked that the Phoenix had a live band playing at games but was impressed by the Pep Band.

"The first game, I had the blinders on, and I didn't realise we have a band there, and then everybody kind of laughed at me. 

"I heard it as I came out for warm-ups today, and it was amazing."

It's not only the off-court atmosphere that has been remarkable but also how the team's camaraderie has helped with the fun environment.

"The locker room is one of the fun places to be in with this team. I have been on teams like that in the past, and it's just such a good environment to be around. Wanting to come into work every day and not just seeing teammates but seeing mates," forward Rhys Vague said.

"We all get around each other; we all back each other. It's a great environment to be around."
