South East Melbourne Phoenix will wear their Heartland Heritage Jersey against the Perth Wildcats in tomorrow night’s Play-In Qualifier at the Fire Pit.
In front of the Phoenix faithful, the players have rallied together and decided they wanted to wear the Heartland jersey to represent the community on the court.
The team first wore the jersey back in Round 16 for Heritage Round, where they won against the Wildcats at a sold out State Basketball Centre, so it is the perfect opportunity to bring them back out for the big occasion tomorrow night.

Co-captain Kyle Adnam was the lead in this decision and explained how the jersey represented the Heartland of Basketball and the whole South East community.
“We think the Heartland jerseys tell a story about our group, club, and fan base. We are one big family right in the Heartland of Basketball. We can’t wait to wear the green stripe on Thursday and represent the Heartland community proudly,” explained Adnam.

With tomorrow’s do-or-die play-in final being the first chance for fans to see Phoenix play a home final in Melbourne after missing out in the 2021 due to Covid restrictions, Adnam and the playing group are excited to see a packed out John Cain Arena full of Phoenix fans cheering them on.
“Our first official home final, and what a better way to kick things off than seeing John Cain Arena full of green on and off the court,” he said.
